Crowberry was completed in early
2007 and was the vision of Alasdair and Lisa MacLean. Alasdair was
born and raised on the Isle of Lewis, leaving to pursue a university
education. Lisa was born and raised in Northern Ireland, moving
to Scotland to complete a degree in Hospitality & Tourism at
Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh. The couple married
in 2003 and moved to the Isle of Lewis, from Edinburgh to set up
home, with the hope of also being able to establish and sustain
their business.
Crowberry is set in the Back
area which has a lot to offer through its untouched natural surroundings.
The area is accessible from Stornoway, being a ten minute drive
and remains unaffected, traditional and reflects rural, Hebridean
lifestyle. This setting is ideal for exploring the island and the
many nearby natural attractions on the island.
The house is built on a croft, on
which Alasdair tends to a small plot and grows different vegetables.
He’s only too happy to have some help, if anyone fancies trying
out their crofting skills!
